PRAISE: A sampling of remarks from folks who've been on (and listen to) "RADIO with a VIEW:" home page

"Morning interview on Radio with a
View was terrific. Smart guys. Smart questions."
Nancy Polikoff, Law
Professor, American University Washington College of Law & author "Beyond
(Straight and Gay)
Marriage: Valuing All Families Under The Law (03/09/08)
"David and Marc are two of the best
interviewers in radio. They are sharp, insightful and courageous. Over the
years, they have interviewed dozens of my clients, cogently discussing a wide
spectrum of topics. Their combined breath of knowledge and passion for justice
is palpable. Progressives in the Greater Boston area (and indeed the plugged-in
world) are richer for their program."
Gail Leondar-Wright,
President, Gail Leondar Public Relations (11/12/07)
"Marc and David were terrific!
It was a real pleasure to be part of the radio program Sunday..."
Norman Solomon, media critic and author of Made Love, Got War.
(9/16/07)
"Ellen Bravo really enjoyed the
interview on Sunday. Thanks for doing it. And please pass my thanks on to Marc
as well. You guys are a Boston treasure."
Betsy Leondar-Wright, former Communications Director, United for a Fair
Economy,
author, and freelance publicist. (6/4/07)
"Sanjoy Mahajan and I had a great time being on your show and discussing the
right of free expression. It's amazing that most people go their entire lives
without ever using this highly touted right. Your show's free-wheeling spirit
encourages exercise of the right by demonstrating that doing so is not only good
for society, but is also fun. Thanks for having us."
Dr. Jeff Schmidt, former Editor of Physics Today, and author of the
book, Disciplined
Minds: A Critical Look at Salaried Professionals and the Soul-Battering
System that Shapes Their Lives. (5/28/07)
"This morning I interviewed at
the MIT station. These two guys (Goodman and Stern) are very smart and well
informed ... [their] questions were fantastic."
Yosef Grodzinsky, Professor of Neurolinguistics, McGill University and
author of In the Shadow of the Holocaust: The Story of Jews in displaced
persons camps and their forced role in the founding of Israel (12.05.04)
Arrggghhh!
I forgot the name of the show now...!! Anyway, I listened to a politically
oriented program on the 'Net here at work and had a BLAST listening to it--very
informative but also very playful! Forgot the name, though. BUT I loved it all
the same and having stumbled on to WMBR (also by mistake) was the best part of
being here all by myself, cranking out some overtime. I LOVE WMBR! (Here's a
big, SLOPPY kiss! SWACK!)
Jonathan Steinke, a new listener from southern Illinois, in an email to wmbr's
online guestbook (11/14/04)
"They
had obviously read the book and raised some good issues. I felt that it
went well--I talked a lot which seemed to be fine with them. One of the better
interviews, I'd say."
Tod Ensign, Director of Citizen
Soldier and author of America's Military Today: The Challenge of Militarism
(11/14/04)
"On Sunday we got up early for an in-studio
interview with Dave and Mark of the show "Radio with a View" on WMBR
(the station farthest to the left on the dial). Most of our radio interviews
this tour have been over the phone, so we'd forgotten how DJs are the red-headed
stepchildren of the media world... But
the interview was awesome... Mark and Dave
introduced our segment with a hilarious folk song by Mark Levy called
"Every Sperm Does Not Deserve a Name" (sample lyric: "If so, a
man would found a nation every time he came"). Then we yukked it up about
how Congress is so efficient at staying "abreast" of indecency issues
like Nipplegate while taking years to address a minor issue like, oh, health
care."
Emma Taylor & Lorelei Sharkey (aka EM &
LO), authors of the The Big Bang: Nerve's Guide to the New Sexual Universe
and on tour to promote awareness of sexual politics - sponsored by the
NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation. (10/10/04)
"...I
felt they got the essential points of the book, which not all [interviewers]
have, and helped me speak to them in order to address the urgency
of the issue for the listeners..."
Richard Heinberg, author of Powerdown: Options
and Actions for a Post-Carbon World (9/21/04)
"I've
done about 50 radio interviews on the Pullman book, and yours was one of the
very few where the questions were fresh and interesting."
Larry Tye, author of Rising from the Rails: Pullman porters and the
making of the black middle class (8/10/04)
"Those
guys were great. Added a lot of important commentary of their own."
Steve Brouwer, author of Robbing Us Blind: The Return of the
Bush Gang and the Mugging of America (03/30/04)
"Dave
and Marc are the Click and Clack of liberal talk radio..."
Maria Aguiar, Director of Global Programs, Grassroots International
(3/9/04)
"David
and Marc are sharp and knew when to come in and what to ask, how much to offer
their own views and how to advance the conversation. Really good."
Larry Everest, author of Oil, Power, & Empire: Iraq and the U.S.
Global Agenda. (12/23/2003)
"Last
night's interview was wonderful."
Jerry Lembke, author of CNN's Tailwind Tale: Inside Vietnam's Last
Great Myth (10/21/03)
"I'm
pleased to talk with you both; really to have a deep conversation rather than a
sound bite about these very important issues."
Representative Eleanor
Holmes Norton, (D-District of Columbia) (8/12/03)
